At webWHAK Internet Services we specialise in website design, hosting and more at highly competitive prices. There are a number of skills that are required in our field of work.

webWHAK is a relatively new company that was set-up in 2008 by Kieran Hardern and Austin Wellbelove. Between them, Kieran and Austin have many years of experience in Computing, working in Website Design and Hosting. We have a great deal of knowledge of the workings of the web, making us ideal to start a new enthusiastic and thriving business. Unlike many companies, we are familiar with and have vast levels of experience in all of the areas that we offer meaning that we can provide professional advice and help, with your needs in mind, from people who know exactly what they are talking about.

So now you know that we have experience and a high level of technical knowledge, but technical knowledge in what exactly? Although we both have our own specialities, we are both much more than capable with, and have vast knowledge of:

HTML

HTML is an abbreviation of Hypertext Mark-up Language sometimes referred to as the 'Language of the web'. Just about every website created uses HTML to output to you the content of the page.

XHTML

Short for Extensible Hypertext Mark-up Language - a much stricter version of HTML that requires more work and has less tolerance for errors.

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets is a fantastic way of adding colour, layout and structure to sites. We use this language in order to shape the pages that we make and to create fantastic Layouts.

JavaScript

A powerful client-side scripting language used to make pages more interactive. Many websites use this and it has become a great asset to web designers.

AJAX

Although not technically a 'new language', AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is used to allow new data to be loaded from the web server without loading the page. It has been made popular by sites such as Google and is used to make websites appear closer to computer programs.

XML

Although less useful in the creation of most websites, XML can be a helpful tool in which to display or transfer data. We have worked with XML to great effect in the past and even use it on our own website!

PHP

PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor is a fantastic server-side language that we use to great effect and have expert knowledge of. PHP is an extremely useful language (installed on our servers) that is used by thousands of websites on the web. Some examples of PHP in action include Facebook, YouTube and Wikipedia.

SQL

SQL stands for Structured Query Language and is used to interact with databases (in the case of our servers, MySQL). Using it we create some of the fantastic features of dynamic sites and maximise the effect and efficiency of our services.

Perl

Although not often used by us, Perl is another server-side language installed on our server. Perl is an interpreted programming language that is used by many to create dynamic web content.

SSI

Server Side Includes are another useful feature that can be used on our servers. Although we use PHP predominantly instead of SSI, we still have a great deal of knowledge of SSI and have used it in the past to great effect.

Image Manipulation

Working with images is a key part of what we do. We both are able to use images to great effect creating media for your sites or for other purposes

Flash

Although not used by us as commonly as we would like, Flash is a great way of making interactive web content (Used on many sites including Adidas).
